Wilfred is a Theatre Artist with a M.A. in Theatre Arts from San Diego State University and holds a B.A. in Theatre Performance: Acting and Musical Theatre. Wilfred is a graduate of the Meisner and Chekhov Integrated Studio (MCIT) in Acting, and is a proud Actor's Equity Association member. In addition, Wilfred attended the 2019 Kennedy Center VSA Intersections: Arts and Special Education Conference apart from procuring professional development training in Trauma Informed Care, Restorative Justice, and Emotional Intelligence. Wilfred actively engages in social justice work with Blindspot Collective and has specifically trained in Boal's Forum Theatre and has participated in programs as a facilitator/Joker.
Wilfred is a Director, Choreographer, and teaching artist who works with Young Actors Theater, San Diego Junior Theatre and, in the past, California Center of the Arts in Escondido & JCompany. As an Arts educator, Wilfred works with the La Jolla Playhouse and Arts for Learning San Diego placed in residencies in the San Diego Unified District, Coronado School District, Chula Vista School District, and the Juvenile Court and Community Schools. Wilfred's work engages students spanning the entire breadth of K-12 through discrete art, arts enrichment, and arts integration programs. Recently, Wilfred has taught Introduction to Musical Theatre and a self-developed course entitled Song as Monologue at La Jolla Playhouse as part of the Spotlight On program designed for adults in San Diego and surrounding community.
